Spring Dating With A Twist

Spring is the ideal time for a fresh start! Whether you’re just starting to date again, or have been seeing someone throughout the winter months, spring is the perfect time to add a little sunshine to your life. To help add to that spring in your step, here are 4 classic date ideas where you add a bit of a twist to set your next date apart.

Drive-in style.

It’s your classic take on a drive-in movie theater, but here’s the twist: Don’t go to a drive-in, make your own! That’s right, set up your own theater in your backyard. You’ll definitely have the best seat in the house! And no matter if you borrow a projector and use a sheet OR invest in a projector and an outdoor theater set-up, it won’t just leave you with a popular date idea, it’ll also make you the hit spot for backyard entertainment all season long! Don’t forget to stock up on popcorn and movie snack favorites, so your date feels that true movie going experience.

Fore!

What’s better than being active and taking advantage of beautiful spring weather on a date? Ensuring your date has a memorable evening! Grab a set of clubs and hit the golf course with your date, but here's the twist: it’s Truth or Dare Golf. That means at the end of each hole if you are (let’s say) 3 over par you pick either “truth” or “dare”. Unless you’re a pro, you better be kind when selecting your date’s truth or dare questions as you could be 3 over par on the next hole.

Food, food, food.

The sharing of food has brought people together since the beginning of time. It's how we make friends and nurture relationships, or in this case, even start a relationship. Sharing a great meal together while getting to know more about one another is a great way to feel the compatibility vibe (or not), but here’s the twist: ditch the fancy restaurant, the one ambiance and one server and create a unique dining experience - a food tour! This will add new energy throughout the night. Either find a recommended food tour and purchase tickets or design a one of a kind food tour of your own. When creating your own, make sure to focus on an easy area that has a ton of different foodie spots and get one thing to share at each spot! Tip - travel time and parking should be easy just like conversation.

Get involved.

Everyone loves someone who is passionate about giving back to the causes they support. It’s definitely a characteristic that makes someone attractive. Yes, share how you give back with your date, but here’s the twist: don’t just talk about what you’re passionate about, do it! Call local shelters or check out community pages to see if there is a charity event or volunteering opportunity you and your date can get involved in. Some fun ideas could be participating in a community walk, volunteering at an animal shelter, or working at a food drive. Then, plan your date around giving back to the community or cause and bring that feel-good feeling to your experience together!
